Hypnotherapy & Creative Meditation

Hypnotherapy is a way to engage in specific stress-related issues and the experience of anxiety. This is an evidence-based approach that has been approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS). There is nothing gimmicky or flimsy about the approach and it has nothing to do with popular 'stage-hypnosis' that you may have seen on the television. My person-centred approach to therapy goes very well with the practise of hypnotherapy because you are always in the driving seat, you are always awake and aware of what is going on. All hypnosis is necessarily self-hypnosis.

I offer non-trance hypnotherapy which is a form of active relaxation and creative meditation to aid you in your change process. This type of active relaxation is about creative visualisation and positive affirmation. Non-trance hypnotherapy, as creative meditation is about you changing your mind habits to aid your development of living a more healthy and empowered life. By developing your own self-awareness you may create new behaviours that can last and be carried across many situations.

We know that being relaxed diminishes our anxiety and creates a space whereby we can be more creative. In a deeply relaxed non-trance state our imagination can be high and rich, whilst our anxiety levels are low. In this state you can absorb your creativity in a more open and accepting way that can positively impact your hopes and desires for example, that all-important presentation you have to make, sitting that upcoming exam, or flying off on your far-away holiday. Perhaps you are experiencing self-esteem and confidence issues. Whatever it is that is stopping you from being the confident person that you wish to be, hypnotherapy may be of great help to you.

This is short-term solution focussed therapy and you may find that you only need 3-6 sessions to experience real improvement in whatever specific issue is holding you back. You need no special clothing and will be able to function fully immediately afterwards in order to get on with your day. You are free to re-engage in hypnotherapy for a different issue at any time and may find that experiencing relief in one issue may have a knock-on effect with other issues too.

Please note that traditional longer-term counselling and psychotherapy will still be available should you find that you wish to engage in an exploration of your life in a more detailed and nuanced way.

£60 per 50 minute session.

Payment is made by cash, cheque, or electronic transfer at the time of your appointment. Cancellation policy: one week's notice is required if you wish to cancel a session. Less than one week and a full fee will be charged.
